A dyno was required with minimal inertia to allow for low speed and varying test cycles, while still allowing peak power test capability. A 100 hp ac motor was used to counteract the large inertial forces of the eddy current dyno, while allowing continued use of the eddy current dyno&#8217;s large power absorption capacity.
