Remanufacturing facility in Corinth MS. Desired to expand test capabilities. The goal was to construct a new test cell with infrastructure and equipment capable of testing engines from to 7,000 to 95 hp using both diesel and natural gas fuels. Dyno-One provided engineering studies and project support throughout the designing, construction and integration process of each system. Dyno-One designed, manufactured and supplied the dyno motor and mechanical equipment required while also integrating customer supplied equipment. The system included a spindle block with a flex disc shaft coupling to isolate the engine drive shaft from the dyno and the in-line torque transducer. A dyno was required with minimal inertia to allow for low speed and varying test cycles while still allowing peak power test capability. A 100 hp ac motor was used to counteract the large inertial forces of the eddy current dyno, while allowing continued use of the eddy current dyno\u2019s large power absorption capacity.
